OECD 208: Terrestrial plant test (seedling emergence and growth)

The Terrestrial Plant Test is used to assess the effect of a test substance present in soil on seedling emergence and early plant growth.

Test duration runs 14-21 days and throughout that time, various assessments are made including: visual assessment of seedling emergence, biomass measurements, height of shoot and the visible detrimental effects on the plant.

A dose-response curve can then be generated and statistical analysis used to calculate an effective concentration or effective application rate for specified parameters.

This is the standard non-target plant study.
